Wells and Noble Named in Second Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing Asian Le Mans Series-Bound

LMP3 team Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing has named the driver pairing for its second Ligier JS P3 which will take on the full 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series season.

In the second car, the team’s championship-leading British LMP3 Cup pairing, Colin Noble and Tony Wells continue their partnership and take on the Asian Le Mans Series together.

Noble has impressed mightily all season with Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing, scoring race wins in both the LMP3 Cup Championship and the Michelin Le Mans Cup, as well as two podiums with the team in the European Le Mans Series.

Merit Merrell and DH Stainless-backed Wells’ form has been impressive too, winning races regularly with Noble in LMP3 Cup with Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing. In addition to that, he also has an LMP3 class win to his name in the European Le Mans Series this year.

The news follows last week’s announcement from the team that Christian Olsen and Nick Adcock would be taking on the 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series season in its other Ligier JS P3.

The opening round of the 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series season is set to take place at the Shanghai International Circuit in China, the meeting running from 23-25th of November.

David Thompson, Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing Team Manager: “It’s great to see that Colin and Tony’s partnership will continue into the winter months, as part of our debut Asian Le Mans Series campaign. As a pair, they’ve been extremely successful with us, winning races and fighting for the LMP3 Cup Championship title this season. We hope that they will continue their winning ways when we hit the track in Shanghai next month!”

Colin Noble: “I’m really excited to be racing in the Asian Le Mans Series with Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing. It’s great to be sharing a car with with Tony who I’ve been racing with in Britain this year; we’re well placed in the LMP3 Cup points standings with one round to go. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to experience and learn four new circuits, it will be great overall experience for both Tony and myself and Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing.”

Tony Wells: “I’m delighted to be able to go racing with Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Racing, Merit Merrell and DH Stainless over the winter. The Asian Le Mans Series field looks really strong this season, and with such a strong calendar, it has a real appeal. Working with Colin more is a plus too, I think we have a real shot at the title despite being new to the circuits.”
